DEC 1, 2018 UPDATE - Thank you to everyone who donated to this year's Giving Tuesday campaign! We are grateful for your generosity and look forward to continuing to engage with you. Our Year-End Giving campaign will launch on Monday which will help us raise the remainder of our goal.

"I Have A Dream" Foundation-New Jersey provides comprehensive wraparound services to NJ youth (known as Dreamers) from K-College. We are unique in our long-term, in-depth approach, providing services and programming that targets and supports the ever-changing developmental needs of our Dreamers and their families. We meet our Dreamers where they are and we are proud that the vast majority of our budget (approximately 85%) is spent on programming, program management, and services.We are also proud to note that as of June 2018 all of our original group of Newark Dreamers have graduated college or are on track to graduate in Spring 2019. All of our Dreamers that graduated are currently attending an accredited university.

You are also supporting our work to cultivate the next generation of Dreamers at the Thirteenth Avenue/Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School in Newark.

Your donation will provide general operating support to our organization. It will also directly support the following programs and initiatives:

Mental Health and Wellness - Dreamers are provided with a safe space to discuss and learn about self-esteem, anger management, conflict resolution, stress management, peer pressure and more.

College Readiness and Tours - Dreamers participate in college (and career) exploration workshops; receive assistance navigating the college application process and go on in-state and out-of-state tours.

College Scholarship Fund - Every Dreamer that enters college or trade school (and maintains good grades) receives financial support to help with tuition and miscellaneous costs.

Academic Enrichment and Tutoring - Dreamers receive academic tutoring across all subjects, as needed, with an emphasis on language arts and math. They also participate in summer academic and cultural enrichment workshops.

Internship Opportunities - Every Dreamer has the opportunity to participate in a paid summer internship. Dreamers learn how to communicate in a professional environment and they learn a wide range of transferable skills.
